DVD Architect 3.0 Won’t Burn to DVD
I made the menus and everything, clicked ‘make DVD’ and it “prepared” the project. Everything seems right, set it to eject the disc when done, and I put in an empty dvd. The computer recognizes the DVD and is trying to get me to burn content on it… Architect acts like it is burning a dvd, but no or only little sounds come from the cd-dvd drive and when it’s done it doesn’t eject. When I manually eject the dvd and put it in another computer… it’s blank!
Windows pop up tells me I have things that need to be burned to a disc, and I opened it up and it’s trying to get me to burn the “disc image” of my DVD architect project. I’ve clicked “burn” in the hopes that windows burning the project will be the same as DVD-A burning the project?
If it doesn’t does anyone have any ideas?
I’m using parallels (virtual operating system on Mac) but I haven’t had any problems with the operating system accessing the cd-dvd drive (‘virtual’ hard-drives and networks are a different story!) I’m running Windows 7.

DVD Architect 3 does not support Windows 7. That’s probably your problem although being on Parallels might contribute to the issue. The fact that Windows itself wouldn’t burn a disc may point to Parallels. See if any other disc burning software can burn a DVD. That should narrow it down.

If you are using windows 7…You need an upgraded version

Vegas (6.0 – the version that came with DVD architect) works fine with Windows 7; is there a particular reason that Vegas works but Dvd Architect doesn’t?
By the way, having Windows burn the disc yielded a strange disc which no dvd player or computer will recognize. Bummer.
Maybe it’s possible to move the Architect project to another computer? If so, is there a way I can fix the “target file” (movie) to update its new location? (Perhaps on an external hard drive). I have another computer running Windows Vista; if I install DVD Architect on that one will it work? I realise that the program was meant for XP in the first place, but I never had problems with Vegas and I’ve always used it on Vista/7 computers…. Still trying to figure out what makes DVD architect different?

DVD Architect is trying to directly access your hardware via low level API’s to burn the disc. Vegas isn’t doing any hardware manipulation at all. What worked in XP doesn’t always work in Vista or Windows 7 because it was redesigned with a totally different driver architecture to access the hardware.

Again i say, get a version made for windows 7…As John pointed
out, it may install and such, but its architecture is not designed
for windows 7…That is why you are having that issue.Steve Rhoden

I know this is an old topic, but…
I am using DVDA 5.2 on Windows 7 and trying to burn a project to DVD and Blu Ray.
The DVD project completed and burned okay using the internal disk drive but the same project (formatted for Blu Ray) would not burn onto an external Buffalo USB 3.0 BD drive.
It would burn the lead-in, then just sit there waiting to start burning tracks with no response.
Finally I just burned the ISO file to a BD using Roxio without any issues. Looking around the internet, there are definitely many others having issues with DVDA and burning to disk. Compilation is fine though.
It is not good enough to state that the user has some issues with his software setup. In my case, Roxio burned the ISO with no problems whatsoever.
