.MOV files from Nikon D7000 Now you see me now you don’t
I have been editing on Vegas for several months now but all the footage has been .mts from a cannon digital video camera. Vegas 10 Platinum has been working great for that but I recently started shooting a Nikon D7000 and the .mov files are playing tricks.
In the view the preview is very choppy and sometime the video (the audio is fine) goes black. It is not all the time but when I render the render seemingly randomly selects clips and they are black as well. I tried uninstalling quicktime and installing the older version but it seems to have had no effect.
Any ideas?
should i convert the mov files before bringing them into vegas? if so, is there a way to do a whole batch at once?

Remember that Vegas 10 Platinum is not the professional version
of Vegas, and as such you may experience limitations on how it
handles certain file formats as advanced as what your Nikon D7OOO Camera put out.Steve Rhoden

I understand that Platinum is not a pro piece of software, however, it seems from all the threads I have been reading that both programs have trouble with .mov and that it has been a problem for people regardless of version of the power of their cpu, either way it looks like i need to convert them and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions…
