JVC GY HD111 – HDV Format – Problem in tape-less Recording on Vostro1014
I am having problem in live recording from our JVC GY HD111 in HDV Format on my Vostro 1014 with following config:Core 2 Duo 2.10GHz, 2GB RAM 400MHz (DDR2 800), 320HDD Samsung HM321H1 ATA, Win 7 Ultimate 64Bit, Graphics: Mobile Intel GMA 4500MHD -> 814 Total available graphics memory, 64MB Dedicated Video Memory
I have installed ffdshow only, In Vegas Pro and HDVsplit it is giving output in m2t file and Adobe CS 5, its giving mpg2 but in both cases the video has got very disturbing blinking lines… see this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oF6iSKPPBrQ&hd=1
Where as on my assembled Desktop, everything is working fine.. except Vegas Pro 10 is not detecting the device in HDV mode but CS 5 is doing great job !!
My Desktop has 4GB RAM, and Intel HD graphics 64MB Dedicated and i5 3.33GHzSo plz suggest me. what can be the cause for this…. or Please tell me what do we call this problem.. what do we call those spots in video World.. so that I can search Web to remove them..

Does your desktop (where it works) have ffdshow installed? Why did you install ffdshow? There should be no need for it and my guess is that it might be causing the problem.

thats true I have not tried recording without any codec pack with programs other than HDVsplit because HDVsplit shows up the need of missing Audio codec and recommends ffdshow.. so I downloaded it…
You may be knowing it that on its site it gives exclusive instructions to use ffdshow for HDV recording… so i installed..
so what do you recommend.. Should I use some other program for Live tapeless recording on my laptops HDD..if yes.. which program, please tell me… ?

Understood. I’ve never installed it but I know is messes with codecs so that’s why I asked.

Do you also record directly on the Hard Disk ?

Straight from the camera, no tape, with OnLocation has always worked for me.

I have not used On Location but used Adobe Premiere CS5 premiere for capturing.. I do not know if they work differently.. but my results with Premiere CS5 program were same… BAD.. !!
I will try on Location too !!

On Location is designed to capture live video to disc. This is what is was designed to do. I think you’ll find it works quite well.

If it happens when capturing with Premiere, It’ll probably happen with any capture app. Try capturing with Vegas and if it still does it, Can you do a system restore to before when you installed any other codecs? Have you tried capturing with another computer? This will determine wheather the problem is in the camera or computer. Most cameras have a reset to original configuration button, hidded somewhere.
