    Hey folks 🙂
As this is my first post, please excuse my bad english and if iam in the wrong section of the forum, please movie it to the right one x)

Well, I got a problem with rendering in ae in a specific project. The project is pretty huge in size (8 mb, the final comp lenght is 38 seconds + 2 of the sapphire plugins & trapcode particular used). I precomposed most of the single compositions 2-8 times and the final ones at a time came in the final comp (with transitions, single adjustments, etc.). Now, the problem is, when I try to render the final comp I get my after effects crashing on always the same time in the timeline.
So here is what I did to solve this (but it still doesn’t work):
-I made proxies of all precomps and even of the final comp
-I tried to render in different formats (quicktime, png-sequence)
-I changed some things in the preferences -> memory&multiprocessing
-I tried to purge every 50 frames with and without enabling the disk cache (shift + click on preferences)
-I installed nucleo pro (tried different settings, even maximum performance)
    -I re-installed after effects

Well, thats basically everything I did to try to prevent the crashing… It still does not work :/
Any idea how to fix this?

    PS: Quicktime is installed 😀
    PS2: My system:
    Macbook (OSX Leopard 10.5.6)
    2,4 Ghz
4 GB RAM (changing back to 2 gigs didnt solve the render problem)

    thanks in advance 🙂

    Hi Julius,

Sorry to hear you’re having such an irritating problem. Are you able to render ANYTHING out of AE? If you are able to render other projects, then I may be able to help. (If you can’t, then there might be a serious problem with your hardware/driver setup)

I have experienced a similar problem. In my experience the problem was with the Sapphire plugins. They do not seem to be as stable in ASCS4, especially when you have multiple instances of them in your project.

Try rendering out the layers using the Sapphire plugin by themselves. If you CAN render them out, just put these renders into your comp in place of the layer(s) using Sapphire. If not, and it still crashes, then it probably is Sapphire and you may have to use a different effect.

    Hope this helps.

    Nick
