    Hi,

Quite frequently my movies are made of:
    – clips on one video track and one sound track
    – text media on another video track, announcing what clips are about. So, I usually have one text media every about 10 clips, starting exactly when the first clip of a series starts.

When I edit the clips to change their start/end points, the corresponding text media stay at the same place, but I would like them to follow the clips they are attached to (I mean: attached my mind, but not in the project unfortunately). I would also like all the following texts to be adapted.

One solution to achieve this is to group the text media with the clip, but then, if I have to change the start of the clip, then I have to ungroup, and then the audio is ungrouped as well, so it is not very helpful, and I find it an ugly solution.

Would you have any better recommendation to properly manage synchronization of text with clips?

    Thanks

Grouping would have been my first suggestion. You might want to try turning Ripple Edit on but that can be a dangerous option to leave on all the time. Editing involves moving things around. Grouping is the best way of moving them together. Don’t add your text until you are done trimming if it bothers you that trimming trims the whole group with text. Three tracks is not a lot of tracks to keep an eye on. I know of no easier way.

You don’t need to ungroup the events, just use Ignore event grouping option
It is much more flexible and easier!
