    Hey Everyone,

We have been having major trouble with burning on DVDA lately. We insert the media, which is a vegas file, into DVDA. When we go to burn, it always stops during the render process. An error message comes up that reads: “Warning. An error has occurred while writing a file. The reason for the error could not be determined.”

We no longer can burn DVDs or Blu-Ray. We have no idea why this is happening all of a sudden. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this could be happening?

    Thanks,
    Matt

By “a vegas file”, do you mean a .veg file or properly prepared mpeg-2 and ac-3 streams?

A properly prepared M-peg 2 file & AC3 audio file. That’s how we render it in Vegas, as two separate files. We then add the M-peg 2 to DVDA. We’ve done it hundreds of times in the last couple of years. But for some reason, we have been unable to burn multiple projects over the last few weeks.

I can’t even prepare a file without “Warning. An error has occurred while writing a file. The reason for the error could not be determined.”

We know it’s not the burner. Something is happening in the re-rendering process of DVDA.

If it’s properly prepared, DVDA doesn’t re-render, only prepare the file for burning.
My only thought is that you haven’t changed the “default prepare folder” or the “Temporary files folder” Options – Prefs – Burning) from their default locations and that drive is getting too full.
