Rendering Threads
I am testing a computer that has 16 threads. It is a dual quad core. I can’t set the maximum number of render threads in Vegas higher than 4. Is there a reason for this? I am using the 32bit version of Vegas 9e at the moment.

You need to use the 64-bit version if you want to use more than 4 cores. This is probably because the 32-bit architecture is limited to 2GB of memory and dividing the memory up across more than 4 threads may lead to worse performance because the threads don’t have enough memory to work as efficiently. The 64-bit version has unlimited memory per core which allows more cores to do work.
If you want to get the most out of your dual quad machine, you want to use 64-bit application whenever possible. Hopefully you have at least 8GB or more in that machine as well (a minimum of 1GB per core).

Thanks John, I suspected it was the 32bit OS issue.
