September 17, 2010 at 1:08 amThe TM700 shoots AVCHD so the files should be compatible with Vegas but I would not shoot 60p unless I was planning to do special slow-motion FX. You can only deliver 30p so 60p only causes problems editing that you don’t need unless there is a requirement for shooting at that high a frame rate.

September 17, 2010 at 3:49 amThere is a project setting preset, 1080, set to progressive, double ntsc, 59.94. But there is no Render preset for 1080 59.94p, at least in the mpeg format. I had to make 720 59.94p since I needed it to be 60p. I compared a 1080 29.94p to the 720 59.94 rendered files and the fast moving parts were unaccecptable with the 1080 29.97p, where the 720 59.97 looked much smoother. My final video was not going to be put on Blu Ray, but was going on a video server.

September 17, 2010 at 4:46 amYup. They work fine. Not all that fast, as you might expect, but they work. And you can, of course, transcode to something else.
Now, there’s some question about “what do I do with it” once you’re done, and that’s legit. Blu-Ray doesn’t support 1080/60p, though shooing in 1080/60p, you can decide after editing if you’d prefer 1080/60i or 720/60p for your Blu-Ray release.
Another option — you can use the same assets for both Blu-Ray, DVD, and online, without making compromises (like de-interlacing your 1080/60i for use online). While you may technically be able to upload 1080/60p for online use, bandwidth available doesn’t make this a wise choice.

September 17, 2010 at 10:27 amThank you guys – So if I have it right – It can be loaded to V9 but can not be rendered, on the same format (and possibly fedback to TM700)?

I assume that the camera can also playback 29.970 footage so you could print it back as that. Why would you even want to print to a tapeless camera?

September 18, 2010 at 1:03 pmAs a way to output edited 1080 60p to TV.
So every time you want to watch one of you videos you plan to transfer it to a mamory card and connect your camera to your TV?
I suggest you look into buying a media player. The Western Digital WD TV HD Media Player is only about $130 and it connects to your TV and accepts any USB drive with media on it.

September 19, 2010 at 4:34 amSpec’s don’t show support for 1080p60, for that player at least. Vegas pro 9 will render as .WMV double ntsc 59.94 at 1080p, and using a HDTV as a secondary monitor, you can play it with Windows Media Player full screen on it. At least with Windows 7 64 bit. I don’t have a 1080p60 camera, so I downloaded a 1080p60 sample in .mts format, rendered as ‘wmv 11, customised video, Image size to 1920 x 1080, pixel aspect ratio, square, Frame rate 59.94 double ntsc, Project video rendering quality, (Use Project Settings). Also I set the bit rate to 25m. I did have to add a brightness and contrast pluggin to get my blacks back, Typicle with .wmv IMHO. But a fast computer can play these back via VGA, DVI and HDMI to an HDTV.
My i7 930 couldn’t play the file back smoothly in the .mts format but the .wmv plays smoothly. Consumer 1080p60 is still new and the NLE software developers will support it better, soon I hope.
