  Mode Settings

  Is there a quick way of finding out what the mode setting do? eg. dissolve, multiply, color burn etc…

  I have done tutorials on the individual settings but once I have done the last one I have forgot what the first one does!

  Is there a thumbnail example or overview of each process you can show me?

  Absolutely. Take a look at the Blending mode reference section in After Effects Help.
