  Best codec/format

  I have a lot of .mkv files with h264 + AAC, but Vegas can’t read them. Which is the best format to convert to? I used WMV + WMA, but it takes a lot of time to convert. Last time I tried DivX + MP3, but vegas loads it kind of slow /it stops responding for 30 seconds and then the file appears in the program… a problem, when you want to add 20+/. With witch codec/formats Vegas works best (I need performance in the program, don’t care much about time to convert)?

  PS I’m on Vegas 9.0e x64.
