Okay, so my client says the MPG2 file is too big to download in one chunk via FTP.

So I cut the MPG file into smaller chunks by placing that big file on the time line, splitting it and then re rendering each chunk again.

I used to do this all the time with version 8 and above, and it would simply say no recompression required in the preview window. And the end result would be a perfect ‘chop’.

I tried this again the other day, but V9c did things differently (remember, Im using the exact same settings) and the end result was a corrupted file; with blocky green splats and garbled audio.

The quickfix was to grab the master avi file and go from there.

Now to my question; Anyone have an idea why V9c was not able to edit an MPG2 file that I placed on the timeline?

It could be a bug that was fixed in 9.0d or 9.0e. I would try again with the latest version (currently 9.0e) and see if it behaves differently.
