  • Vegas to DVDA making Blu-ray disc: Media is not compliant with the disc format

I’m trying to make a Blu-ray disc using Vegas 9 and DVD Architect 5 and running into a snag. Here’s what I’ve done. Please tell me what I’m doing wrong.

    1) Took native 720 30p AVCHD clips and edited using Vegas 9
    2) Rendered the project using Vegas 9’s “Blu-ray 1440X1080-60i, 25Mbps video stream” MPEG-2 template.
    3) Render audio track as AC-3
    4) Drop the resulting .m2v file into DVDA
    5) Click Make Blu-ray disc

This is where DVDA tells me that recompressing video is required. Is there a way to prevent this?

    Thanks!

    Hi Jason.

How big is your resultant MPEG-2?

If it is larger than your media, can you modify the bitrate downward using a bitrate calculator, so it will all fit on the disk?

I had this problem with DVD.
