How to export from FCP to Vegas for Blu-Ray
Hi–
Well, I’m back to having to export a sequence out of FCP for use in Vegas. I don’t remember how I did it. These are titles, so they need to be of high quality. I can see in my previous project that the end files I imported into Vegas were .m2ts, but I have no idea how I got there. Can someone give me the right procedure?
Also, just in case, hope you guys don’t mind the double-post, but I may post this over at FCP as well 😉

Vegas should be able to ingest a Quicktime ProRes422 MOV file but this is really an FCP question.

Well… you said you wanted high quality and h.264 is a highly compressed lossy format. I would not use it as an intermediary format between FCP and Vegas but if it’s all you have it will have to do.

OK, Apple ProRes it is 🙂
You don’t have any idea how I might have output this is .m2ts format do you? And is that better, or should I just stick with the prores from now on?

Oh, also, which Apple ProRes is better. I see (blank — plain vanilla I assume), (HQ), (LT), (Proxy), and 4444?

No, I don’t use FCP but .m2ts files are AVCHD which you don’t want. You want ProRes422 MOV files.
