What Aspect Ratio for rendering a 16:9 project to DVDA?
First render of MPEG-2 for DVDA. My project settings are HD 1080-60i (1920 x 1080, 29.970 fps). Project length is 1:48:48;01.
I want to burn DVD-R. I selected ‘Render As’, MPEG-2, DVD Architect NTSC Video Stream and then ‘Custom.’ Vegas gives me default values of 720 x 480, Output Type DVD, 4:3 display, Lower Field First, 9,500,000, 6,000,000, 192,000. Are those the right values? I tried Mark’s Bitrate Calculator, but it asked for some stuff I didn’t know.
I want the best quality so I set the slider to 31, chose ‘Prioritize Quality over Speed’ and selected ‘Two Pass.’ If my project is 16:9 and I want to give preference to the newer 16:9 aspect ratio, do I also select 16:9 for the Aspect Ratio in rendering (I think so)? And if so, do I leave the same settings for the width and the height (720 x 480)? Or do I use something different/else? Thanks.
