  Problem, files are switching.

  I have a project which i edited on 9.0c and when i just went in to check it before rendering many of the events on the time line had switched to a completely different pieces of footage from my project media clips. I deleted it and brought back in the correct clips. Ive just gone to render it and the clip has changed again to something else again!
  The problam is that the SV reads the switched files, by their original name, and not by the name the events are really called.

  Files are always referred to by their “original name” vs how you may have marked them up. I’m not sure what you mean by “SV.”
  If you’ve got hard drives changing letters and have media that shares names, Vegas will look for the drive with the letter last used for that same media.

  Yes, but what I meant is – File “a” got switched by file “b”.
  the part that i cut from file “a” got switched with a part from file “b”, and when I click on that part and select – Select in project media – it selects file “a”. And file “b” had disappeard from the project media list.
  SV = Sony vegas.
  It doesn’t happened only with two files, it happened with 5 and even more.
