I’m doing my first project in Vegas, so this will probably be the first of many stupid questions (I do try to find the answer before I ask).

I want to unlock the audio from the video on a clip so I can change the length of each while staying in synch. And then lock them again. Is this possible?

    Dan,

Right-click on the event, then choose ‘switches’, and set/unset the ‘Lock’ switch as required. This locks or unlocks an event.

    Method #1 (the hard way):
Click the audio event, press U to ungroup it from the corresponding video event, adjust as desired, click the audio event, shift+click the video event and press G to Group them back together.

    Method #2 (the easy way):
Click the “Ignore Event Grouping” icon (on the toolbar or Ctrl+Shift+U), adjust as desired, click icon again.
