Vegas Pro 9.0e Crashing working on AAF
Hi there!
I am having an incredibly frustrating problem with Sony Vegas Pro 9.0e. I have been given several projects to work on recently, all with AAF’s generated in either Premiere, or Soundtrack Pro.
When I import the AAF into Vegas, after thinking for a while, it asks to reconnect the missing media. As all of the media files are handed to me on an external hard drive, I copy them to my internal hard drive in the same folder, and advise Vegas where to find the first file.
It then duly reconnects the rest of the media.
However, after working on the project for a while, if I try to hit ‘SAVE’, Vegas will instantly crash.
If then try to re open the same project, as soon as I reconnect the media, Vegas crashes.
The only way I can get the project to work again is to open it, click “Ignore all missing files”, then when the project has loaded with all the media offline, re save as a later version, then re open the project and reconnect the media.
This is fine but as soon as I try to save the project further down the line, it will, 9 times out of 10, crash, starting the whole process over.
Another irritating issue which may be related is, whenever I minimise the project, to check email etc, upon restoring it, I have to reconnect certain media files AGAIN!
I have pages of error messages I can post if anyone thinks they will help!
Any help would be much appreciated as these are final major projects for my colleagues at university doing a degree course, and we have to hand in next week!!!
I have struggled to the end of the last project by continually re starting and moving on without saving, but this is not ideal as you can imaine!
Am I doing something wrong?!
Many thanks in adavnce
Mark.
