Beware: VISTA !!!
I posted yesterday that I was having trouble with corrupted video that I wanted help to overlay frames to correct.
I was using a computer with VISTA, Nvidia graphics controller, and AMD Turion 3.6 Ghz dual core processor. I got frustrated with the computer constantly going to the Blue Screen of Death, and so moved the project over to a machine with XP, Nvidia, and Pentium 4 2.6 Ghz processor. And guess what …
The video is not actually corrupted! I was CHASING GHOSTS (very repeatable ghosts, mind you) that weren’t actually there! The video now plays all 14 minutes flawlessly with no tricks.
So was it VISTA, the Nvidia controller, or cosmic rays? I have had so many problems with VISTA that I am laying all those frustrating hours at Bill’s feet.
So thank you that responded, and sorry to lead you on a vacant errand, but maybe this will help someone else. Thanks again.
