The tapes themselves are fine, it is the software path that is gone.</p>

The data is almost always still sitting there intact.</p>

<p>I do But PE tape migration for clients in India. Of course, I haven&#8217;t built a software for it. I simply have a couple of old Macs still running only for Bru and the occasional FCP 7 project conversion. </p>

<p>Another method you might try is using Mocha AE.  I brought the footage into Mocha, tracked it.  Then eyeballed and quickly added some keyframes and it did a pretty good job, more time would get a better result.  Saved it, created Masks from the Matte data.  Then I created a shape layer, add a path, copy and pasted the mask data into the&hellip;</p>

I got a sphere, then added that to a boolean with a linear cloner containing tall rectangles. This gave me individual slices to play with. I added that to a volume builder and volume mesh, along with a SDF smooth effect. I also added Remesh to help with the jagged&hellip;</p>

<p>It&#8217;s highly likely he used Meatballs, but to achieve this animation, he used two Meatballs elements and placed them under a Bool tool, subtracting one from the other so that the subtracted element was hidden. Then he moved them through each other to achieve that effect. I&#8217;ll try to replicate something similar for you as soon as possible,&hellip;</p>
