I use this method A LOT from Adobe Pr to DaVinci Resolve since I work mostly in DR.</p>

<p>Absolutely no need to transcode for editing. As you say, there are no problems in FCP. It is better to keep the original format.</p>
<p>For playing outside of FCP, you may try different players like IINA or MovistPro.</p>
<p>If you need to really transcode, you can choose a ProRes flavour, but bear in mind that file sizes will grow significantly. </p>

<p class="">It&#8217;s supposed you used bake as Alambic or exported to fbx but it didn&#8217;t work for you, especially with the Deformers in your scene. I think without a plugin you might be able to do it throught the dopesheet and the &#8216;bake objects&#8217; option. I tried to explain this in the screen recording below; I hope this is helpful.</p>

<p>Then import that video file, add the deflicker filter again. If it shows no difference to the flicker with the filter added to the exported file, tweak the settings until you see a change, then export again.</p>

<p>I suggest that you give Davinci a go, and follow the advice of making multiple passes on the render (new render for each pass, and then import that to your timeline).</p>
<p>And see where that takes you.</p>
<p>There are other DeFlicker tools out there, some which may be on monthly subscription.</p>

<p>That is some serious flickering.</p>
<p>First and Second pass is something I often use for Green Screen keys. But multi-layer the effect instead, and do one render out.</p>
<p>1st fx layer is the main green, 2nd + is for dealing with the variations that did not get taken out by the first key &#8211; this is an old way of doing it, but sometimes works.</p>

<p>Adobe, with the latest version of Premiere Pro 26.2.2 (Build 3), appears to have rolled it back.</p>
<p>Instead of fixing bugs, it is now crashing all over the place.</p>
<p>Currently editing MP4 footage with ProRes intro and outro &#8211; nothing too tasking.</p>
<p>I am on Windows 11, intel Core Ultra 9 processor, 64GB RAM, NVidia RTX 5090, 5th Gen SSD and 5th&hellip;</p>

<p>And, you are clearly doing all the right things to make it work.</p>
<p>Initially there are only two things that you don&#8217;t mention, which might be relevant:</p>
<p>1) In your setup, do you use external drives HDD/SSD?</p>
<p>2) What is the codec of your video source files?</p>

I used to click a sidebar shortcut in Finder, and it would connect to the server-NAS, but it doesn&#8217;t do this automatic connection anymore. First, I have to type the address and connect to the server, then it works. It is not a big problem, but this&hellip;</p>

No issues. I have always noticed my Time Machine backup drive takes longer to mount, but not a problem. Other drives mount quickly. </p>

ALL of my work is located on external drives and if I can&#8217;t mount them I&#8217;m doomed! So, I&#8217;m extremely hesitant to upgrade. I see two people who haven&#8217;t had any problems, yet I&#8217;ve read about <i>so many</i> more who have!</p>
