I’m taking the fox new approach. Hyperbolic title for views.

I tried a nice simple post about a month back, but that got me nothing.

Your post is as useful as my title.

    +1 for the mbox!

Another big thing to take into consideration while recording voice overs is the room. You could have the fanciest chain ever, but a bad sounding, reflection-y room will really degrade the professionalism of your recording.

Proper treatment is ridiculously expensive, but arranging a few moving blankets can do the trick.

I’d suggest a better mic all together. But that’s just me..

Small update: I took an unedited clip (recorded as a .wmv) and converted it to an flv using flash 8’s built in converter and it looks absolutely fine! Why would one work and not the other?

The problem with using flash 8’s converter is that it adds another time consuming conversion to the process. Record (wma)> edit in premiere> export as (???)> convert to flash.

Is there a better way to go about all of this?

Note: I did check out the h.264. It looked pretty freaking good.. but the client wants the content as an flv..

    Hey mike,

Thanks for the reply. Is there a way to export to the f4v from premiere? I can’t seem to find the option..

yeah, I checked few different formats like avi, wmv, and mov, and they all look great.

    Thanks for your help!

And of course the decay.. 2-3 seconds can create a massive space, but can quickly muddy things up if you mix to much in..

Impulse response reverbs are perfect for this kind of job. Most DAW’s these days have some form of VST support that you can use to load an IR verb. Predelay is the setting you want to toy with the most. That will really define the size of the environment.

Further adding to the confusion, if I adjust the video I want to be in the 800X600 box until it looks right, the width ends up at about 1350. How is that possible when the total project size is supposed to only be 1200?
