That probably is the problem. Because they’re no longer the same clips. That does in a way come down to the name, which is where are they? On your computer, they’re on your HD with your folder and your names. While the names of the files are the same, the location of the folders are different (different computers).

It’s all a learning curve.

I am only guessing. I’m fairly new to DaVinci. But, if it works in one direction and not the other, something is happening to the clips on the other computer. Somehow the names might be getting changed. You need to really look into how it’s built on the timeline.

I media managed my project, a 17 minute short film. It’s 171 gigs, which is huge in my opinion.

I set the in and out points, color graded as sent it off to be exported to an mp4. That was 24 hours ago, and it’s still exporting.

I copied my timeline into a new project, and uploaded from the external HD the BRAW files. So, I’m set.

Only the extensions have been changed. Some are still MP4, while others are now Proxy BRAW.

The original raw files are BRAW.

Stupid update: The problem came from me using proxy files not the raw files. I linked the two together, and it’s all A- OK.

I’m sorry, I’m not always clear. I see this problem in 720 footage.

The shot I put up is from a BMPCC6K FF. It’s not 720, it’s at least the normal 1080p. Which is why I find this distressing. I’ve never seen this in 1080p before.

I see this problem in some movies when the resolution is of lower quality. This is a CU of the problem from my exported movie –

I have DaVinci 19, the camera used was a BMpocket 4K, and the timelines are 1080p. Which is also what I exported.

When I see something in 1080p I never see this problem. I see it all the time in 720.

Thanks. I’m fully up and running. Now, I just have to learn da vinci. I’ve edited the first scene, and it works a little like Final Cut. But, FC was very user friendly. I didn’t have to look up anything in order to edit. Da Vinci is not as user friendly. But, for free, I am sure not complaining (not much anyway).

The GPU came. It was easy to install, and it worked.

Perhaps what you need the 4GB for is resolve for effects.

I’m just simple editing and eventually color correction. The correction is down the road. It’s going to be a long, slow road.
