Thanks Neil. What my issue is though, is that often it is black (0 luma) on frame 0, but sometimes it has been a very dark picture, but not black. I am looking for a setting that makes my dissolves show dark picture, not black, on the first frame of the dissolve. I don’t understand why this wouldn’t be a default, since broadcasters, more often than not, want picture on 01:00:00:00, not 01:00:00:01.

Hey Doyle,

Firstly, thanks for this. I’ve been tasked with making some Karaoke versions of show songs and this could be helpful. BUT, I need the ball to hit the words, not at a steady tempo, but when they are actually sung. If I can only get a certain number of bounces per second, the ball won’t be hitting the words at the right times. Is there a way to drop a keyframe at the correct time and have the ball hit at that moment?

Hey Bouke,

That’s very cool to hear from the man himself! I did appreciate your tool, but I admit, I didn’t really understand what it was meant to do exactly, but what I took from it, is that what I was attempting to do was possible.

The problem is that I don’t understand what your tool is doing to the EDL. How would it be possible for Subcap to read the first entry of each line on the EDL?

The VFX house is getting a AAF, so I don’t need to subsequence/subclip anything out.
