Insanely helpful… thank you.
I played around all day cutting some diffusion cloth and paper that my editor had hanging around his place. The light in the room is now more pleasant, the sound is completely gone, and I even need two fewer lights to light my background. It’s pretty sweet.
I’m going to hang up my gloves on the project and send you guys a clip from the next video I put out!

Rich, thanks a lot for the reply!
Cool… so basically, all I need to do is set the dimensions of the frame and the data rate?
Should I go directly to 640×360 or use 1280×720 for the dimensions? I typically stream at 640 on the site, so none of the videos will actually be played any larger than that… I suppose unless they click the “full screen” button.
These are still great guidelines, so I’m glad to have something to work with! Thank you!

Right now, I’m using 107 inch paper… I hope they make conduit that long!
This is absolutely perfect… I’ll send you a picture when I have it set up! Thanks again for this, I’m headed to home depot now.

My life would be so much easier.
You ever have your paper just unroll uncontrollably? That was fun.

I surmised that the projector would end up being a “hotter” white… I just wasn’t sure if this is “bad” or not. I know the look of the paper is likely to be better… but right now the convenience factor of my current set up is not good.
Thanks for the tip on the grey paper or “video white”… I probably should have asked you guys about that earlier.
Are there any pulldown backgrounds that are meant to be more absorptive than reflective? If I could make the use of this background as simple as pulling down a shade, I would really really really improve the easy of my production, and the feng shui of my office!

Ok… if it takes an unreasonable amount of time to export, what would you do to make the file smaller so that EVS can handle it more easily?

Alright Rick thanks man! Well hey, enjoy the free lessons and I’m glad we got a chance to trade! I really appreciate all of your help, and I really do think the shots look good.
I’ll try to add some shapes to the background in the future… maybe change backgrounds every time I put out a new program… we’ll see.
Thanks again!

Also Craig, just hooked up a monitor… HUUUUGE help. I can actually adjust things efficiently now without trying to look across the room at a little LED screen. Thanks man.

Rick, when you say “above the camera” do you mean right above the camera itself, or ‘just above camera level from the same direction as the keylight’.
In other words? Is it only the key light eye that needs to be illuminated, or both?
