After Effects is the application in which you would do most of the animation and compositing, with the exception of the 3D work, which would be best done in Cinema 4D (which is included with After Effects).

– Any time you say or think that, submit a feature request: https://adobe.ly/feature_request
– Most people tell us to spend our extremely limited resources (After Effects has far fewer people developing it than you likely think) on things that only we can do, such as improving performance and building new compositing tools, rather than redoing simple automation utilities that someone else has already built using our scripting interface… especially when those utilities can be gotten for free.

I think that you misunderstand the price of the script. It says “Name your own price”, and $30 is just a suggestion, a placeholder.

Unless I’m misunderstanding what you’re saying, all that you need to do is to put your cleaned-up image over the footage layer. You can draw a mask around the sign so that the sign is all that is overlaid. Of course, this only works if there really is no camera movement and nothing ever comes in front of the sign.
