Hey Thanks Robin. I gathered that from experimenting. I guess I was perplexed that there’s no documentation about this being the native behavior of using a title template. It seems like it’s the kind of thing that people just happened to find out. Additionally, I would go in and immediately delete the title background and just work on the title so perhaps I never realized it’s effects.

Still it seems that Apple would have something in their documentation that explains what you’ve described; that is unless I just missed that part in the manual.

Well now that we know [today] the Mac Pro is being rethought/redesigned for a potential 2018 release, shall we consider this Mac Pro in the esteem of the Mac Cube? I still love the current Mac Pro by the way, but good for Apple for realizing it must pivot in a different direction.

Nice machine indeed. Not ready to leave macOS though. I agree Oliver. I think the MacPro isn’t gone yet. Sure is a funny thing to go from stated “…can’t innovate my ass” to hearing crickets in the Apple winds passing over their halo machine.

Is it really as simple as perhaps Intel isn’t meeting their timetable causing an Apple delay? Could there be something else yet unexpected?

I haven’t felt this uncertain about Apple desktops (and I use ‘desktops’ intentionally since “pro” is an increasingly moving target) in quite a while.

I just hope that the iMac does not become the only answer. I love the iMac and use a iMac 5K Retina daily, however I preferred being able to choose the monitors I wanted; particularly two or three of the same running off of the Mac Pro when I was working on one.

Now if the iMac became the top of the line from Apple and they offered a Retina Display as an option to buy separately that’d be different perhaps. Though make no mistake that I still prefer (having a choice) working with the Mac Pro over the iMac; particularly when doing multiple tasks and editing.

Hopefully we’ll no soon what Apple is up to.

Thanks for that link. Intriguing. Apple is so tight-lipped about future products it’s anybody’s guess what’s happening with the Mac Pro. Pair this finding with the benefits of Apple’s Metal technology and maybe there’s something worth waiting for…maybe.

Noah, so you’re saying that assigning roles to the channels of a polyphonic audio track inside a multicam won’t come over with the project even though the media is the same?

I tried it again. Assigned roles yesterday inside my multicam. Brought a copy of the project home. The roles I named reverted back to Tr2, Tr3, Tr4, etc.

That’s actually what I did first. My normal routine is to transfer the entire evening, because I still run into issue with FCP X creating so many duplicates, triples, etc. of the same clip – very annoying. I tried then dragging the project over and tried exporting/importing an XML.

I will try the menu command instead.

Original media in the timeline – most of them multicam clips.

I’ll go in and make adjustments inside the multicam clip with the audio (shut off channels), deal with loudness, etc. so that it propagates throughout the edit. Then I’ll spot check the individual clips on the timeline as I go.

We recently determined that our C100s are not the problem. We think the problem may be KYNO as we were testing it. The problem is that we get inconsistent results so we can’t nail it down wit confirmation, but EditReady has not given us rewrapped content with artifacts.

I’ve used the same cards that had the same footage using the same computer with built-in SD card slot and connected USB 3 card reader passed through an OWC Thunderbolt dock. Offloading those cards and rewrapping with EditReady gave us clean video. We had this issue in November/December of last year, but at the time didn’t take not of which app we used when the offload happened. Would be great if that were some added metadata. Would even be better if FCP X would let me relink to the footage I want.
