NB is still a piece of work… I am plagued with the “Enter Text” box in Vegas 13. It happens randomly. I don’t trust the program at all and must check each title before outputting a video when I reopen Vegas. I’m using the titler mainly for creating boxes and circles and some text for hundreds of training vids for a corporation.
The problem is so bad that my only option (if I want to use the program) is to save each and every title as a template, and copy the name I gave it when I saved it, and past it into the Vegas text box properties window so I know which title went where. This is very time consuming, especially when you consider that when using the basic titler in Vegas, all you have to do to create a new title is control drag an existing title and make changes – no saving – it just works.
If the program can’t successfully do simple things, how can it be trusted to do complicated titles and animations?
Does anyone know of a good titler for Vegas that can create lines, boxes and circles and that actually works? I have Boris too, another complicated nightmare.
Thanks,
StevePS – NewBlue support is no help. They act like they have never heard of this problem before and ask me to reproduce it for them.

Rick: I’m having a similar problem.
I believe that it’s associated with the “shared/unshared” switch in the interface. If you forget to switch it off it may titles that you copy on the timeline. I told tech support that this button should default to “unshared” and that there should be an option to set it how you want it. The drag/copy on the Vegas interface for titles asks you if you want to link to the original file, which has always worked fine, but has no effect on newblue.
It’s a good little program, but quirky. Still, it beats all Vegas text generators and BorisFX for ease of usability.

I received the following reaponse from Magix tech support regarding the m2t bug problem:
We now have this issue correctly reproduced and in our bug tracker and are working on an update to fix it. Â In support we are not able to provide iron clad promises as to a timeframe, but it sounds like it will be soon.

October 4, 2016 at 8:27 pm in reply to: Overall feelings on MVP 14, please give me yoursAs I understand it, Magix bought several applications from Sony. I figure they were trying to get V14 out fast so as to not lose anymore Vegas fans to other applications. But they probably set the release time too soon given the work and testing that needed to be done.
I’ve been a Vegas user since V2, and as an editor, I have patience (as we all do). So after only a couple of weeks since release, I’m not sweating things. After all, Magix didn’t spend all this money to screw things up. So sit tight for now and I’m sure the bugs will be fixed and the new features that we requested will show up.

I opened a case last Tuesday with Magix via phone regarding the slow load times of my m2t files into V14. I heard back from them yesterday (Monday). In reply to the below support response, I sent them a link to the test performed by Red-Rob Rothkopf earlier in this thread.
I’m sure they’re slammed with bugs and such, but I’m surprised that they don’t have better online support as an established company. I’m sticking with V13 for now which is fine. At this point I’m just happy that someone bought Vegas and I’m not forced to work with Premier…
FROM MAGIX:
…. This is something we are looking into currently however we are not able to reproduce the issue yet. Which specific hardware or software created the source files?Best regards,

I haven’t yet heard a peep from Magix since reporting this problem early last week. Thursday I couldn’t find anyway to check on my trouble ticket. I called them again but phone numbers were asking me te enter odd codes to continue onto “A” then “B” and then told me the codes didn’t match. I called sales but the line was continuously busy. My guess is that they are on overload.
Sticking with V13 for now. V14 eventually opens on my new Boxx computer but I sure wouldn’t want to risk a crash or reboot, especially when working with a client.

What type of files are you using? I’m having issues with m2t files in V14, but not in 12 or 13.

Yes – I opened a ticket with Magix earlier today. I think you’re right about the m2t files Laszlo – we’ll see what Magix says.
The 60 gig veg won’t even open on my older 8 processor Dell. After 30 minutes of loading and choking, and 28 gigs of ram, it finally ran out of memory and died.
Thanks

Yes – I have lag at times as well. It’s almost as if the drive were sleeping and needed time to spin up. Certainly long enough to press the space bar more than once. I haven’t had this happen in V-12.

Thanks for looking into this guys! I am indeed using m2t files. My cameras (V1u and Z5u) both use this format. I know that m2t files load into Vegas more slowly than modern codecs (and probably render slower as well) but 6-7 minutes seemed excessive. I’ll contact Magix and see what’s up.
