  • Since I made the RED file I put it on a video for you. This is ‘roughed in’ so you can work on edges and fire location for you project.

    Click for the example:

    https://www.planetliquid.us/web_video/szn89productions/szn89fire.avi

You’ll need the DivX codec installed (it’s high def).

PS. COW admins, listen up, can you make it so that someone can edit their own post please? Thanks.

  • Boris Red 3.02 file link.

    https://home.comcast.net/~stephenlnoe/szn89boristextfire.red

download the file and open it in Red 3GL You can dissect the project from there.

No charge this time but get it before I take it off the server hombre…

  • Hmnnn… Fire inside of the text character or the text is on fire or the text is in a bed of fire?

How about delete the boris ini file and then let it recreate it. This helps alot of problems.

Just for fun turn off the OpenGL rendering and use software rendering. Does it speed up now?

    Hi,

Can you detail your steps please? If you are trying to do a DVE on a title that came from Deko then why not just make the title in Boris, not in Deko? You can apply a title as a transition as well. Just drop the Boris transition plug on the cut and then open up Boris and creat a title. Then adjust the length in Liquid. Works great.

Let me get the scenario correct. You have a clip in Edition and then you place the boris FX plug on the clip. Then you open the boris FX for editing. It launches Boris from within Edition. Now you’re looking at the clip in Boris composite window. You add an effect (let’s say a title) and it looks ok in Boris’ composite window. Then you click the apply button and boris closes. Now your back in Edition and what you saw in the composite windows is not rendering on your timeline?

    Julian,

Accurate compositing as far as what? Camera moves or lighting moves or? Boris 3.02 readme says that video out is only available through the stand alone keyframer engine and not available through the plugin. What are you tring to accomplish that Edition does not give you the preview (non RT)?

Are you sending it out to a 16:9 monitor or 4:3? You will not automatically get a letterbox on a 4:3 display and it will look squeezed.

    what is your setup?

    Hi,

Boris will have V1 and V2 as video layers by default. Make sure your bottom layer in Boris is not active unless your using it. I use Boris Red 3.02 with Edition 6.1 almost every day. Your on the right track. Just make sure your bottom layer in Boris is transparent or better still, not even present.

    good luck…
