well, I’m on the trial, and their program is better than their grammar. I’ll admit that… it def seems to have everything I need. It still seems a bit childish in a few aspects, but hey if it works it works. Lets just hope I can get the encoding right, haha.

    Thanks guys

Just went through the site, and it seems at least to me that DVD Lab is pretending to be top of the line… The menu screenshots I managed to find show a very simplistic UI, and all that the site does is brag about how many cool presets it has. Are they foreign as well? The english on their website is pretty faulty grammar-wise. Sorry, but it really did not make a very big first impression on me. Are there any serious Professional programs that work well with Avid/Sorenson? DVD Studio Pro is apparently geared towards FCP, and I can’t figure out how to buy it seperately. Encore seems to be the same thing, except it is for Premiere. Do these programs work outside of their company’s branded pipeline?

As long as it can loop video files created in After Effects, I’ll be happy.

  • thanks for the help! Once I get this project out of the way I think I’ll go back and play around between what you suggest and the other techniques I’ve found

  • Thanks very much! I always use QT ref when I’m going to DVD, but it never occured to me to use it in AE, thanks for the tip!

  • I know how to keep everything uniform etc., but my problem mainly is deciding WHICH filetype (.mov or .avi etc.) and WHICH codecs with what settings would be optimal for doing what I described.

    Thanks,

    Sean

you can get some neat smoke effects from the shine plugin if you break up the rays using a fractal effect and then sweep the source point through it.

  • forgot to add: since I don’t have the budget quite yet for that neat auto duck thing, does anybody have any ‘conventional’ tips?

  • hey that looks pretty cool… I just need to update my AE from 6.5 haha! Thanks for the tip man!

He works freelance, and mostly on corporate video shoots or live teleconferences (like the Johnson&Johnson stockholder’s meeting). I’m more interested in structured video and editing, and shooting weddings is the perfect thing for me as far as that goes, unless someone else has a better idea that hasn’t crossed my mind yet…which is very possible.
