I’ve tried zooming all the way in then focusing, and then zooming out but this doesn’t work, because even though the lens still looses focus during the actual zooming, before going into focus at the end of the zoom.

Okay thanks, I was told it was because if using fly-by-wire lenses, instead of lenses with mechanical rings. But if I am doing something wrong, what could it most likely be?

Okay thanks. Maybe I’m doing it wrong then. When I make a mark on a follow focus with a grease pencil, and then want to hit that mark, the mark on the lens is not the same each time, because the electronic components in the fly-by-wire lenses, are changing the mark each time.
How does one pull focus on a follow focus if the electronic components in the lens, is changing the focus marks each time?

Okay thanks. But I was told before that the problem I was having with accuracy, is the fly-by-wire lenses, and that fly by wire lenses will not work with follow focuses. So is that not true, and they do work with them?

Okay thanks, but one of the problems I have with the fly-by-wire lens, is let’s say on a follow focus I set point A and pont B, and I want to focus from one to the other.
On a fly-by-wire, once I set the points, all of a sudden Point B is not the same anymore, cause the fly-by-wire, does not work consistently cause of the electronics inside it. So even if the follow focus has hard stop, any points you make on it, will be consistent cause the fly-by-wire itself, is an electronically inconsistent ring system. How do you pull focus then?

Okay thanks, I already used it before on an older Canon, but ML does not work on the newer ones it seems unfortunately.

Oh okay. So you are saying that with MF, I can use a full frame and shoot in a 1:1 aspect ratio if I wish though?

Oh okay. So you record in 4K, then it’s not using the whole frame, you are saying? But how is this possible on an HD sensor, since an HD sensor does not actually have enough pixels on it, to get up to 4K or even around 3K?

Okay thanks, but how would you have 4 times the focal length? Are you saying to shoot as close as you can to 4k and then zoom it in post?
