Like you, I have less enthusiasm for the Chamber of Commerce than many here. Oh, I have gotten the rare deal or two over the years but like you, I am not a member of our local Chamber and haven’t been since the late 1980s.

I know some people that have done well within their local Chambers, and to them I wish them well but like you, I put my money elsewhere as most of the people I have met at Chamber functions are other people looking for opportunities — read: looking to make not spend money.

Others mileage may vary but this has been my mileage record…

Whenever QT7 grabs my browser and won’t play nice with Windows Media files, I merely:

    • ctrl-click on the link,
    • copy the address and
    • paste it into Windows Media Player.

Not the most elegant solution but it works.

[Mark Suszko] “Don’t do the miniature, credit-card sized discs, or the odd-shaped novelty discs, they tend to clog or jam in slot-fed drives, then you’ve lost a customer for life, and anybody he complains about it to…”

Every time I go to NAB, I get handed some of these credit card CDs and have yet to ever play even one of them. I asked Kathlyn the other day if she’d ever bothered with one of them and she said that she hasn’t either.

    Hi Chris,

One of our servers hick-coughed this morning and so we had to reset it. Everything should be fine now.

    Best always,

[ezroller] “Righto you guys are the mutts nuts, thanks”

Er, um, you are welcome. (He said rather sheepishly, pondering the whole idea of seeing his team reduced to that of being a mutt’s nuts.)

    ;o)

[ezroller] “BTW to the people who run this Forum (and of course the other people who post), You Rawk Hard.”

    I better, I’ve been drumming since I was 14. ;o)

But seriously, we are very proud of our team. We believe that they are the very best out there and when you say that…

[ezroller] ” have learned more in the short while i ve been lurking around these waters than any book or lecturer has even come close to teaching me.”

…we have to thank you for the kind words and, like you, we believe that they are a phenomenal resource and a great bunch of people.

So Cow leaders and those who contribute to this community, please take a bow…

[Medion] “Why are my other posts away? I can’t see them now.”

They were pulled because we do not want scrolling title bars, etc., on posts in these forums. They really mess things up when people start adding those kinds of tags to the subject lines. So we pulled them.

    Hi Bob,

Like Scott Paul Dunham, my Safari loads fine. At peak load times when the Cow is really busy, the pages load very quick but the ads can take a bit to fill in. The pages are still very fast but the ads can be slower as they are served off of another server that handles just the ads — it’s a dual Opteron, whereas the pages themselves are coming off a quad Opteron.

Try some different versions of words in the advanced search engine — words like “plug-in”, “plugin”, “plugin packages” and “plug-in packages”. Search the search range for all active posts. There are tons of these kinds of threads in the database, trust me. ;o)

October 3, 2005 at 7:37 pm in reply to: Popular AE Plugins

I would recommend using the search engine and try words like “recommend plug” and “popular plug” — this way you will get those who spell plug-ins as plugins or popular plug-in programs.

This question has been answered so many times that there are tons of replies if you use the search engine.

Sorry if this seems rude but I want to keep our leaders and others from screaming and bashing their heads against the wall.

    Hi Leor,

We had that feature for years and less than 2% of our members ever used it. We’ve been exploring ways to accomplish the idea in a new way that would get many more people to use it. It will require people to register and set their prefs but in the end, it will give members a lot more interactivity and design of the site.

    Thank you for your feedback.

    Best regards,
