Hello Mr. Phillips,

First, thank you for the knowledge you add to this forum.

Second, do you have a detailed article or course on this framerate nightmare? If not, is there anything you recommend? Vendors and others make this even more difficult than it could be by saying 24 when they mean 23.976 and other such inaccuracies. And what is 60i? Is that 59.97?

In MC7 is a 24p Film project really 24 not 23.976? But then it plays to an external monitor as 23.976 psf?

Are you sure the settings in the Data Burn In area are grayed out? You can’t select the checkbox to the left of any of the items? Can you post a screenshot?

So apparently I clicked only on the name. Thought I clicked the box. Apologies.

I did have a real issue however. When I added the timecode then went to deliver and back to color to reduce the gain some more, I lost the timecode and could not get it back. I had to exit Resolve and relaunch it.

BTW, since Resolve is used for finishing, we need control over the codec parameters and more containers like .mp4.

What about creating new projects with External? Then copy the folder with the bins, etc and copy the 1 folder? One would want to do the 1 folder rename thing as well.

Good to know, I think I exported a mov and captured the frame in Quicktime Pro. I am still looking for workflow alternatives to some of the stuff I do with Quicktime Pro.

For those that don’t know, Apple has deprecated the Quicktime framework.

Very good, thanks. Mine is going to take some fiddling unfortunately but I will come back to it later. This is my own exercise as I wanted to see if I could make my vidcast run through presentable. Need to get better at all of this editing stuff.

I am not sure what you mean by the player window. You mean the Composer window? That of course is what I was doing in the beginning.

[Hans Sieber] “maybe this helps. Mark the desired frame in your timeline. Use match fram to load that frame in your player monitor. Export from the player monitor with right-click. Deactivate “use selected tracks” in the export setting.
Hope this workaround gets you going. Normally you should be able to export directly from the timeline. If you turn of “use selected Tracks” and “use selected marks” it should export correctly.”

Thanks for that, I was able to get a still from the source viewer. Unfortunately I want a still from the timeline that I am trying to color correct. Still cannot do that.

I have tried at least tiff, pict, and jpeg. Tried active tracks on and off.
