You don’t need a SDI in for the Kona. Set FCP to send your HD signal out via the Kona. In FCP, check View>External Video>All Frames on. Then go down to View>Video Playback>AJA 1080 29.97i 8 bit to have the signal sent to the Kona LHe via it’s SDI out. The Video Playback setting needs to match the FCP Sequence settings you are working on.

FCP takes control of the AJA control panel, so don’t worry about it’s settings for SDI. I always set Frame Buffer in the Control Panel to match the format of the sequence I’m working on in FCP.

That should feed the HD Link an usable signal. You might hit the Blackmagic forum for help with it.

    Hope that helps.

A year and a week ago, we closed on a 9200 sq. ft. space on 3.25 acres of land. Best move we ever made. We reserved 4500-5000 of it for us and turned the rest into rental space for creatives. We’re at 90% occupancy and able to cash flow over 50% of the loan payment with rental income. Made for a long hot summer last year, but well worth t. Congrats to you guys on pulling the trigger. Best of luck!

We’re in the market with the “Pay Me Now” spot. It has run on broadcast for quite a bit now with almost everyone I know aware of it. It created quote a stir when it debuted a year or two back.

And no, we didn’t produce it.

I have to agree with Walter. We bought a 9200 square building last year, did a 5000 sq. foot build out and populated the rest with tenants. Our diversification was into commercial real estate, away from media production. I have other people to help pay my mortgage payment.

Like Walter, the bubble burst allowed us to look at properties that we couldn’t even think about toughing before.

Bought one about 2 months ago. Works great. I would suggest you get the Applescript utility “MultiUser Pro” from Chesapeake Systems (sp??) which manages FCP preferences and let’s you define scratch storage on a project or user basis.
