Then I finally came to the conclusion files must be converted (Sony Catalyst Browse).  I used to do this with my old FCP7 program, but just assumed the X would work.  Am I correct in assuming that this is the only option? (other than the other&hellip;</p>

Issue solved when I started looking at other files.  Somehow, the monitor setting got tweaked (embarrassing, I know).  I think this happened, for some reason, on a re-start.  &#8216;Looks back to normal now.  But thanks again &#8211; I&#8217;m always amazed at folks&#8217; generosity of knowledge.  Take care! 😉</p>

Now, the picture on the timeline is all washed out, looking overexposed.  The meters are right on, and the minor tweaks I made to color and exposure were no longer implemented in the timeline. Then I decided to pull out the photo and place it elsewhere in the timeline.  How do I re-stretch that interview video to cover the gap that was made by the photo.  Each time I try it, it pulls everything later in the timeline out of sync. I know this must be FCP 101, but&hellip;</p>

<p>Sorry for the late response.  Now &#8211; I barely remember the issue&#8230; but I think it had to do with lack of hard drive space.  As I recall now, I think I dumped a bunch of stuff and it started working again.  BTW &#8211; I was simply compressing to a QTmovie, which I was later going to compress to an MP4.  Thanks for checking in&#8230; gotta go take a&hellip;</p>

So now I&#8217;ve got my nice little (old) MacBook Pro with no editing capabilities. 🙁 . </p>
<p>&#8216;2 editing projects in the pipeline&#8230; so maybe I&#8217;ll do something&hellip;</p>

I also drive an Edsel, so you&#8217;ll understand.</p>
<p>Anyhow &#8211; a new weird problem&#8230; I&#8217;ve been working on 3 corporate projects for 2 months, and now as I go to EXPORT QUICKTIME MOVIE, it stops after a few minutes and says &#8220;Codec Not Found.  You may be using a compression type without the corresponding hardware&hellip;</p>

I am shocked and excited!</p>
<p>Meanwhile, I&#8217;m still waiting for a follow-up response from PavTube HD convertor.  They took my money for the 2nd download, which doesn&#8217;t work. <p>My PavTube HD convertor quit, after upgrading my imac to El Capitan ( I regret the upgrad).<br />
I re-purchased the program and downloaded, but it still doesn&#8217;t work.  Pavtube took a very long time to get back to me, saying &#8220;it should work&#8221;.  (thanks for the help Pavtube ;(  !<br />
