    Robert, you should ask your ophthalmologist if your color perception may be in part due to your eyes (without wearing your glasses).

    I suspect when we get older, the proteins in our eyes’ fluids and lenses may even be less than perfect transmitters. I’m sure my left and right eyes do not see exactly the same colour. Still when using an LCD screen I remove my glasses and favour my right eye. I also have myopia and astigmatism.

    Gary I was just trying to be facetious in that the Neverending Story was a movie shot on film about a story that ends with another beginning. The question about matte screens on the new iMacs is the same question we hear each year so it’s neverending as well. And it’s in the digital realm. Hope that makes sense.

    The pixel count may be double or may not be double to achieve a ‘retina’ display since the iMac will normally be viewed at a greater distance than the iPhone for example. The iPhone 4/4S uses 326 ppi but on the iMac the screen may just go from the current 109 ppi to 168 ppi to achieve the retina effect at a viewing distance likely of 18″.     Of course there are also rumors now about a new retina iMac so not sure you’ll see 30″ but you may see that on a 27″. Amazing year in store in terms of desktop/laptops.

  • The rumour is at least SSD to assist with booting the computer. Perhaps in the high-e d configuration, the only drive(s) will be SSD and another option would be the hybrid boot assist plus a larger hard disk drive. Removing the optical drive gives them room to add something. I’m very curious if they will abandon their hard-wired graphics daughter card for a removable plug-in card in the MacBook Pro and the iMac Pro.

  • Looks like we shall know all the details in about four weeks although not sure of the release date of course. Could be mid-June. And the benchmarks will tell the performance story shortly after that.

  • Craig sorry for the almost duplicate post I made announcing NVIDIA returning to the MacBook Pro. Your source indicates it is possible. The sources in my post indicated it’s going to happen. Still I wouldn’t have posted if I had read all of your post first!
