August 29, 2011 at 2:14 am in reply to: Folder w/images and MPEG Video on SAME DVD?Nevermind. I found a workable solution on the Apple forums. The DVD with an extras folder must be built and burned directly through DVD SP. The file won’t show up if you simulate or build – you must burn it directly.
I ran into a problem because I rarely build and burn together. I usually create the “build” folder and then use Toast to burn.

August 29, 2011 at 1:35 am in reply to: Folder w/images and MPEG Video on SAME DVD?Michael: I cannot get this solution to work. I’ve created a folder and inserted a second folder inside it. I then placed that folder on my desktop. I then checked the DVD ROM box and pointed to the outer folder in one test and the inner folder on a second run-through and neither build resulted in an “extras” folder on the DVD.
Your help would be appreciated.

Rich: I just now heard back from the client. I’m off-loading the content to another drive and plan to deliver to them within the next day or so – for a fee. I believe you took my response out of context. The issue is not my lack of communication – it is their inability to respond to my communication.
Thanks.

I’ll send them another email. If no response in one week, I’ll drop them a note through certified mail. In that letter, I’ll outline the costs to transfer the media as well as the price tag on the hard drive.
This organization is very dysfunctional. I am talking about source files only – assets that could be used to create another project. In fact, I pitched them on a second project based on those files.
Thanks Craig.

Yes – it’s a compromised image – and everyone knows it – but it’s a spectacular image at an affordable price point. This is a temporary shift as the technology moves foward – this is the bleeding edge and there are all sorts of issues. But so what? It works. And whatever comes along based on the sensor and optics won’t require a huge investment, unlike the typical video upgrade. So I guess that’s the true wisdom.

Thanks so much Ty. I am now engaged in the process to see if I can locate a rental mic – or perhaps purchase one of those other microphones you suggested. Given our weather around here, I’m not sure a specific set of rental days would work.
Again – thanks to all who helped with this – what a fantastic forum.

Can I rent these microphones – is there an on-line source for microphone rentals?

Fantastic. I cannot wait to record my own stereo sound.

Ty: Thank you for the note AND the audio file I’ve just downloaded. Wonderful – that’s a much fuller sound than the shotgun I was using yesterday. What are your thoughts about using a windscreen?
I really love that sound – the “centered birdcall” was terrific. That’s a must have for this documentary I’m producing –
Thanks so much.
