    This is what I was afraid of. Leave it to the end you say, even after the colour correction? And work with the individual 4K files in AE? Then export it, and import back into the edit?

    I’m most likely going to export the final edit as 1080 HD. I guess I could export the individual shots requiring AE work as 1080s, and export them out of AE as 1080s still then back into the edit for the final cut export?

    So you believe there would possibly be a loss of various image qualities shooting in HD as opposed to 4k with the Blackmagic 4K since the camera is purpose built to primarily accommodate 4K shooting? I’ve not heard this thought before. I guess it would make sense.

    I see what you mean with Resolve, it is indeed on its way to reaching the level Premiere and Avid are on. So far it looks like I might be able to proxy through Resolve to edit with Avid.
