The combination metashape / substance painter doesn’t work as far as I can tell. My solution lies in using c4d in between and converting the obj with udims in c4d with arnold. export the new obj and it works in substance painter with only 1 texture set.

let me clarify: I’ve exported .obj+4texture.jpgs from metashape (in udimformat). when I import this in c4D I get the object with 4 textures and 4 polygon selection tags. When I open the same obj with tex in substance painter I get object with 4 texture sets. And I don’t want that.…

I import an .obj and it’s colormap comming from metashape, photogrammetry. So it’s only mesh + colortexture. importing this in C4D there is always a reflectance turned on in the material. And with rendering it also has this glossy look. I can turn it off of course but I’m wondering why C4D always turns it on.

What are your thoughts on this?

After I import an object .obj with material in R20 I switch off reflectance and use only color I get only color. When I do the same in R25 I still get some kind of reflectance.
