Yeah I tried to pack the demo full of EVERYTHING that we offer and obviously, it doesn’t work. The idea behind it was to offer a general overview of everything we offer, then have individual samples. Maybe instead of the demo, I’ll just offer individual samples or even split the demo into 2 different demos – one for video production and one for filmmaking.

I really want to hire someone else to do the site, as I’m sure it’s not nearly as optimized for search engines and load times as it should be.

I used to use the main homepage (http://www.triple-e-productions.net) as the landing page for video production and the video production page looked similar to that, but someone told me it doesn’t look professional.

However, the site design on the main page might be questionable as well…

Any opinions on the main page (should I have stuck with that look)?

So basically, too much text. I have samples in that bar on the right side… is that too hidden that you think people aren’t recognizing that it’s there and therefor, it is going unnoticed?

As far as templates, where can I find some decent ones? I honestly know nothing about web design, that’s why I posted this. =)

I’m not offended at all. You’re absolutely right. The content is a bit harsh on the viewer. I didn’t realize that.

I’m thinking of removing the demo and leaving the rest of the videos for the moment. The demo is probably too annoying anyways, as it’s a large file that automatically plays, increasing the load time of the site.

What do you suggest for the font problem? I’m a little confused as to how to clear that up.

I’m thinking they either went with another company or they (upper management) haven’t made a decision yet. As of right now, I have nothing booked (eek!) so I’m free.

Mike Suszko, since I don’t have anything booked right now, you think I should just concentrate on booking something else and not even follow up with the message you suggested, or should I send him that email anyway to make it look like I’m busy?

Who knew that in this business, you have to play these mind games… geez….

Well, I’m not looking to work AT this place. His company is a potential client that found MY company.

Thing is, this job is for a really good amount of money, more WAY money than I’ve ever made in a year, and I really want it, but at the same time I don’t want to be a pest and chase the guy. I’m just wondering if at this point, I should just wait and if I don’t hear from him, then “oh well, that’s life,” or if I should follow up again in a few days or something.

You can just grab the .VOB files and put those into the timeline and edit those but when you render back out, depending on your delivery, you’re going to have to compress it again. You can render to Quicktime with the Animation codec or you can render out an uncompressed .avi file, but the files will be huge – but they’ll be high quality.

What’s your intended delivery format?

I matched the COLORFIX footage to the COLORFIX2 footage if that is what you were looking for….

I set the white point the the kid’s shirt (the one behind the microphone) and I added a magenta-ish blue into the midtones.

I also desaturated the image as well as desaturating the orange channel.

I did this in After Effects in case you were wondering.

I’m not 100% sure but I believe that rendering out to a separate audio file produces better audio. The compression is better, file size may be smaller.

I have the Dell 24″ monitor.

I like it. I wouldn’t use it for color grading but it’s perfect for editing,etc. For color grading, you should have a broadcast monitor anyway. The colors on this monitor are a bit warm but you can tweak them.
