Thanks.
Yeah, your probably right. Just trying to think up a quick and easy weekend and evening money maker using my equipment. EX1 and all the kit. Don’t really want to get into weddings…too stressful.
Corporate stuff I do is going very well, but very time consuming. I thought the kids party idea would be a quick shoot and hardly any editing as they probably want to see the vid with warts and all (probably the ONLY video where the client wants this 🙂

Hi,
As mentioned above I am using a Kensington 7 in 1 Media Card Reader for Expresscard Notepad Slot. Plus a 16GB SDHC Card (Class 6).
Thanks

Yes – 10 times the cost. But maybe a worthy investment.
My EX1 is not old, so haven’t had it serviced yet. How do I update the firmware?
I will look into the other make you mentioned.
Touch wood this is the only occasion I have ever had a problem. I was taking a series of quick record, stop, record clips so maybe I didn’t give it enough time to write.

It’s so expensive to but SxS cards.
So do these (SDHC) fail more or is there a debate open on the subject?

Thanks. Hmm, hopefully it was just 1 or 2.
Mind put at rest thanks

Thanks.
Although the fact that it happened mid shot rather then when I when I put the card in is a tad worrying.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
It’s just going to be for the parents use in whatever way they see fit. But we will keep a master copy.
I don’t think there is a law requiring permission, but then again I am still not clear as to whether I need (legally) signed permission to film anyone…
Thanks

January 22, 2011 at 8:01 pm in reply to: Basic, but highly professional animation within footage neededHi,
Thanks. This is a low budget product, although my ‘creative flair’ and ‘perfectionism’ has taken over and I want these extra touches rather then just fading in a picture.
But, for future projects, what sort of cost are we talking about for an animation – taking this scope as an example to more complex projects.

January 22, 2011 at 5:22 pm in reply to: Basic, but highly professional animation within footage neededOK. Thanks for your replies.
Budget is tight enough for me to look for a template, so we’re talking $45-$50.
The project is several interviews (no cutaways), so I need to be very inventive on how I meld the interviews together and introduce still product pictures.
It’s complicated further because each segment of the showreel is about a specific product, for which I only have one interviewee, so cannot cut between interviews as I would normally.
Hopefully that explains in a bit more detail?
Timeframe is 1 week, 2 max really.
Kind regards,

Only trouble is I have a tight turnaround and I often don’t know exactly what I want until I ‘see it’, which makes a custom product difficult.
Hope that makes sense.
