Btw – the Matte screen is the same style as the old MacBooks isn’t it? As in I get no reflection when working outside.
Are you in the UK or US? Wondering if it’s worth a trip abroad to get one. They are £2,050 here. So about $2,800

PS – Its goes to show too how much crushing the blacks in the edit has a dramatic effect on the end YouTube compressed result. When the blacks are not crushed youtube shows a horrible pixulated background. Hideous!

Thanks for your help. Video’s turned out pucker. Not quite as good as the example I gave, but very marginal different. I think you were right Craig. These guys are chucking a lot more uncompressed data at YouTube then I am able to right now. Still, very happy with the results.

Well at least Blu-Ray has come down in cost considerably. I remember paying the wrong side of £50 for 6 – 25GB disks two years ago. Just picked up 10 – 25GB disks from the same company, TDK, for £16.99.
However, that deal has disappeared and been replaced by one that is £32.99 for 10. Still less expensive then they were.
I always back my BPAV and MOVs to different HDs then back up to different BR disks. A little over cautious maybe 🙂

Just out of interest and its way off topic, but what to you use to store your footage? Currently I offload everything to Blu-ray disks, but this is not cheap at £4 per 25GB disk.

Thanks for the link, i’ll check it out. Hmm, I wonder if I could get better results then outputting at 2002 H.264? Worth checking out.
