I got this problem fixed. The way I had to do it was NOT include the next, previous and main buttons like the instructions say to. Once I eliminated those buttons from the chapter index, it did create all six menus, with the correct button names, along with the next and previous buttons. I also had to make sure that the “sync button text and name” and “set name from link” options were checked for each button. The routing on the buttons was all messed up though so I had to set each of the six menus manually. Overall, I’m not so sure that it saved me anytime because of all the problems. But perhaps next time it will be a better time saver..

Yeah it was confusing, I read it several times before I followed through. From what I get from in, you’re to basically set up the first menu, just the way you want it (although it says “at least one chapter button”) and then it will make the rest of the menus based on that first one. I tried both ways actually. I put all six chapter links on there and I also tried it with just one chapter link. When I did it with just one, it created 36 menus! But both times, it did not sequentially increase each chapter like it’s supposed to =(

Yes, all 36 chapters are in the same timeline, same .avi file actually too.. Is this a bug in CS3 or am I just doing something wrong? I followed the instructions exactly as they’re written.

I just found out from my replicator that they accept burned dual layer discs (often) When you say you would simply never submit a +R, does that mean that -R is better?

June 11, 2007 at 4:33 pm in reply to: DLT (which?) or GPME method for creating DL for replication?I’m finding that these DLT 4000 machines are inexpensive and they’re all used or refurbished like you said. Are they all SCSI-SE? I don’t have a SCSI card so now I’m looking at a SCSI to USB or Firewire cable. Anyone here use this kind of setup?

June 5, 2007 at 6:55 pm in reply to: Encore shows “untranscoded” on transcoded filesCan’t revert to original. But if I do replace asset of an AVI, with the M2V file that it transcoded, what about the audio? It transcodes the m2v and ac3 files separately? Or will it automatically pick up the accompanying ac3 file?

May 22, 2007 at 3:16 pm in reply to: Encore shows “untranscoded” on transcoded filesAnyone know a solution to this? I have the third project open and it’s showing one of three assets as transcoded, yet when I go to the \Sources\Transcodes\ folder, all the folders for the videos are there and contain the transcoded files. How can I make Encore SEE these so I don’t have to waste hours again?

Just wanted to say thank you for helping me with that ROM issue. I did the 2nd DVD today the way you described with the parent folder and it worked famously! The MUSIC folder and PDF is in the ISO file =)
