I think then Ellesse should check the Reel ID in your master clips in the Avid. Then replicate that in Resolve so that when you come to relink to the new resolve rendered MXF you don’t run into any problems. In Project Settings > Master Project Settings and then conform options section, I use */%R_* in the Pattern box but you’ll need to modify depending on your Reel names.

I’ve been using Resolve Lite to create dailies for the Avid from the Black Magic camera. It works really well and doesn’t tie up the Avid.
I not sure if you can relink AMA master clips to transcoded clips from Resolve assuming the Source File / Reel fields are consistent. A question for someone with more AMA experience (Michael Phillips!)

Yes, you can just change the 24 to 30, or however many frames per second.
This formula converts column c into frames and then column b into frames and does c minus b to give you your duration.
The reason I said you may need to add 1 is because for example if your shot is:
TC IN: 00:00:00:00
TC OUT: 00:00:00:01using that formula will give duration of 1 frame. When really it might be two frames.

Something like this in your excel doc:
=((LEFT(C1,2)*60*60*24)+(MID(C1,4,2)*60*24)+(MID(C1,7,2)*24)+RIGHT(C1,2)) – ((LEFT(B1,2)*60*60*24)+(MID(B1,4,2)*60*24)+(MID(B1,7,2)*24)+RIGHT(B1,2))
This is assuming 24fps and column b is TC IN and column c is TC OUT. May have to +/- 1 for inclusive TCs etc….but should get you started.
This will give duration in frames

I do this almost every day. I go to Data > Get External Data > Text file. Delimit by “space”. This will give you fields of EDL in separate columns. Then you can use formulae to shift data around. Copy and paste the whole lot back on itself using “paste special” and select values only to get rid of formulae and then you can sort to get rid of columns / rows you don’t want.

Edit Protocol is a simplified version of the composition, closer to an EDL than the full metadata of everything that goes into an AAF file, but for what Resolve and many other applications support, it works fine.

I’ve asked a friend with DaVinci to do a couple of tests. He’s reported back that the EDL I produced using EDL manager of type CMX3600 worked with no problems.
The events looked like the following in the EDL:
001 A008_C00 V C 12:04:59:10 12:04:59:17 00:59:52:00 00:59:52:07
* SOURCE FILE: A008_C009_0616EZBut still better to go with File_16 or AAF for the reasons Michael explained.
