If you don’t own the copyrights to that DVD it is against the law to copy. If you do then you need a reverse telecine application which is DVDxDV (www.dvdxdv.com) it reverses the telecine process and put it back to a media that FCP can read and import. There is no need to capture the footage the way you are doing. The application DVDxDv won’t reverse any DVD that is copyrighted.
