It looks like the cheapest HD switcher I have found so far is the Datavideo SE-2000 (B&H Photo $5,699.95). I was kind of hoping someone made a simple 2U rack mount switcher with simple buttons on the front that would be cheaper, but I haven’t found anything yet.

I guess what they say is true: if you step up to HD, you have to pay to play.

Got a model number? I’m not finding it.

Now Walter, before you get everyone all excited, make sure you tell them those 90 looks only work with Color 1.5. Those of us who haven’t upgraded to FCP7 yet are just out of luck.

Same as what you have now, except that one of your monitors will plug in through the adapter. No change at all in how it works in system prefs.

Matt Campbell> are there miniDisplay to DVI adapters that will work with my monitors and allow for an expanded desktop?

Yes. Apple has one for $29. I’ve seen third party adapters for less.

Ah! I stand corrected. Thanks for the clarification, since I’m just about to fill out a req for one of these. I think you just saved my bacon!

OK, I don’t have one, but when I look at the picture and the specs on ATI’s web site, it clearly shows two full dual-link DVI connectors.

Canvas is NOT intended to represent an accurate view of your project. The only way to get a true view of your project is to run a broadcast monitor connected to a dedicated video board designed for that purpose.

Just a guess, but how about paying for the source material and/or the software you’re using?

If I didn’t have Photoshop on my Mac, I’d use the Gimp. I use Gimp on my work PC all the time and have found it quite capable (and sometimes even preferable). And by golly, you just can’t beat FREE!
