No. None of the elements are red.
And it happens with every logo I try.

As a test I made a simple blue box in AI.

Imported it with BFX w/use illustrator colors on and it still came in red.

    Other suggestions???

    Just had the same problem…
Try resaving your file in AI as AI version 8.
Just do a “save as” of your file – rename it – then when you get the ai file specs change it to illutrator 8. Be sure not to overwite your original file. (worked for me)

  • Just wondering…
how big is the image you are applying the effect to?

I’ve had a lot of problems with AE7 crashing with large images.
    like 4000×2200
If you can.. try it with a smaller image at least as a test.

  • I just tried it.
    It worked – no problem

    you may need to reinstall

    but I’m just guessing

    good luck

Thanks Steve – you confirmed what I thought was true
It just seems with the ever expanding capabilities of AE that basic drawing tools would be included.
Doesn’t seem like too far of a stretch for ADOBE.

    Thanks again

This is probably not the answer you are looking for but I always output my files at full resolution avi’s and the use Windows Media Encoder to create my wmv’s. the quality is usally great, and it gives me alot of control.

    https://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/encoder/default.aspx

It’s a two step process but it works great.

    Try this:
Create your RAM preview. As you said it the time line cursor will return to where it was when you started.
Then set your time line cursor to the beginning of the area you just previewed and hit the space bar the section will start playing, hit the space bar again to stop it where you want and it should stay put.

You don’t need to do the RAM preview for this to work but if you don’t the preview will chug slowly depending on the complexity of your comp.
