Your technical advice for the adjustment in FCP was brilliant! I read the JVC manual almost cover to cover and came to the conclusion I would probably have to make an adjustment in my editing app. You just saved me a lot of time trying to find that solution. This is not the first time you’ve come to my rescue! Thanks.

I knew from past experience that hardwire offered better audio quality but was just wondering if wireless technology had advanced enough to give it a try. The mix in your clip was excellent and just what I want to achieve. Haven’t been to the venue yet so I don’t know the cable run length but I’m dreading the effort to do it and secure it.

What I’ve found is that other video production companies shooting dance competitions often just use an on camera mic. If I were to do that where do you recommend I located the mic?

On my last recital shoot I ran 2 audio feeds as you suggested. However when the clip was imported into my editing system I found the camcorder had mixed the 2 channels. I want to be able to manipulate each channel separately as you recommended. I hope that is just a menu adjustment in my camcorder. Thanks.

I updated to Encore CS4.01. Selected chapter markers in the timeline and then set end action in the Properties window. Worked fine in preview. What confuses me is that in the flowchart view it doesn’t show video clip connected back to chapter menu. Any idea why?

Since my initial post I’ve changed most of the embedded video files to file downloads instead. They seem to work properly with Firefox on my Intel iMac. However my home page still contains an embedded video file that should play automatically upon entering my site. Can you confirm that it does? I still prefer embedded video files to file downloads because you never have to leave the site design to view the videos. I’ve incuded a link to my site. It’s still a work in progress. Thanks.

Thanks. That’s what my sales rep recommended too. Editing In HD and have Compressor do the work down converting to SD. Having a HD master and footage for a HD demo is a plus also.

Looking to purchase a HD camcorder in the $3000 – $4000 range. Torn between JVC GY-HM100U and Sony HVR Z5U and caught up in the debate between CCD and CMOS. I edit with FCP so the JVC appeals to that but which cam will capture the highest quality images?
