That’s an option I hadn’t really considered straight off the bat…getting the ‘stock’ lens and then supplementing with older/non-Panasonic lenses…

Do you recommend the 28mm Nikon to take the place of the Panasonic pancake, or as a supplement?

And how are you enjoying the GH2?

Thanks for the feedback. I’m more than a bit rusty on SLRs and lenses as I haven’t played with one since my Minolta X-700 (which is still in storage some where…). If memory serves I had a 50mm lens and an extreme zoom for that one. (and have been strictly PnS for the last decade for photography and the video cameras at work all have the same lens…so haven’t had to think in a while!

Thanks alot for the link – I had been doing a lot of searching for info on the lens and nothing popped up (everything google threw my way was how to buy it with the GH2).

    Very informative and helpful

April 19, 2006 at 1:34 pm in reply to: Using Boris Continuum in Motion

Glad to read that there is a fix in the works for the FCP portion of the problem (didn’t read far enough into the thread…and for some reason was thinking that it was only about the Universal Upgrade, which I had already been told by Boris was going to be incompatible w/their products…)

Curious, though, why I’m having such problems with it in Motion as well. It keeps crashing (on two different computers) when I try to export a project so I can import it into FCP…

Love the info this site provides, as it has saved my bacon quite a few times already this year!

  • Unfortunately, found out after the fact that Red doesn’t work with Motion, which is mainly what I needed it for, so looks like I’ll have to get Continuum after all as well.

  • Thanks for the insight….although now I’m in a quandary as I just ordered FX and Continuum Complete and it sounds like Red is basically the two of them combined (plus other features) and since I can get the academic version, the price is equivalent. I looked at the BorisFX website (and tried to call…) and I’m not sure if Red contains all the transitions and filters as Continuum (like, for instance, the ‘shattered glass’ one…didn’t see it listed anywhere).

And thanks for the info on the Library Browser! Even knowing what I was looking for it took a while to find, but I did…can’t wait to play.
