  • Thank you for reporting back, Lyle. I was puzzled by the warning in the 1.5 Decode instructions: “Not for computers with any version of Final Cut Pro installed.” Perhaps your setting the program to recognize QT 7.0 was a workaround?

I don’t know this camera, but in the DV cameras I’ve used, 4-channel recording is stereo. In other words, 1 and 3 are a stereo pair and adjusted with the knob for 1. Similarly, 2 and 4 are adjusted with 2. Also, 4-channel samples 12-bit audio, not 16. I hope someone who knows the hvx 170 will confirm.

  • I am having a similar problem, possibly with spanned files. The project with file structure intact was delivered to me on a hard drive. Two files developed greyed out sections of video after Log and Transfer. At first the .mov was complete but after I retransferred, the .mov has the missing sections as well. That suggests to me that the XML file or something other than the MXF is corrupted. Audio plays fine and is unbroken. Other files in the project are fine. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

    Ken,
Are you still on 2.8 or have you upgraded to 3.0? If you have upgraded, I would like to know how that’s working for you because I have 2.8.1 and an SD Mojo.
