Nothing wrong with improving what was baked in FC7 in my mind. Eliminating the complexity altogether though and killing off a tool that was rough around the edges but delivered where it counts…ugh.
This whole “democratization” thing really is in no mans land. It’s still a 300$ app lost in the Arizona desert. Pitting itself in-between a consumer app against a bit better – more expensive than – consumer app, which sets it adrift.
Color was an epic tool. FCXs’ color board is a flimsy boxed in convenience. Like you said, a substandard proxy of an already downer of a program.

How can you take a product that is actually enterprise and turn it into a 3rd rate corrector and keep a straight face calling it a “revolution”
The FCX corrector blows. I can’t even believe they were serious with releasing it as a replacement. It boggles the mind…

Pure and simple.
I just finished a film that required 30 deliveries, and counting, ALL requiring DVD submissions, screeners for producers and the director. While it may be a “standard” on it’s way out…it’s not getting it’s plug pulled anytime soon, it will be a slow bleed out, and is still very much a requirement in this field.
That’s one project. Just because we “can” produce other methods, is by no means, no where near, not even in the same galaxy, as a dead delivery method.
Good grief…”interactivity”…PUHlease. It’s very cost effective…or maybe I should bleed my budget delivering betacam, hdcam…paying $5 a gig to my service provider on overages….

The more I use it, the more it becomes obsolete and FC7 is looking like the greatest editor ever made…
To take such an enormously helpful tool and turn it into a smudged, self indulgent, paper thin facsimile that rips apart the second you touch it is a failure of epic proportions. Lucas didn’t even ruin Star Wars this bad with his prequels…

It goes without saying…but it’s argumentum ad absurdum. Or more specifically, white noise…
We get it. We got it the first hour. The first day. The first week. The first month. We’re now in week 6….When does it stop…..I think we have heard this white noise well enough…and maybe it’s time for the other side to finally understand, to finally get it…just because FCS wasn’t ripped off our computers, that doesn’t justify anything Apple did, not one lick, nor give license to be told to shut up
