  • Thanks – I’m gonna do that. Totally hear you about the eyes.

  • I was using a 500 watt lowell Omni light, off camera left, bounced off an umbrella… and it wasn’t even that far from the subject – maybe 10 feet. Iris wide open. I just couldn’t seem to get enough exposure w/o going to 1/24…

So is 3db of gain noticeable on the HPX170?

  • Hi,

    I’m using the HPX170…

I’m attaching a sample of what I shot the other day in 1/24… it does seem a little blurry. So I’ll try the gain instead…

Rather than using the Normal shutter speed, would I be better off using 180 degrees?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Thanks for the tip. But this crunchiness doesnt harm the camera does it? I guess I’ll just shoot on a wide angle when I’m outside.

Incidentally, should I be storing my P2 cards in their cases, or is it OK to keep them in the camera at all times?

Also, after transferring footage off the cards, am I supposed to reformat the cards or just delete the clips?

    Thanks again

I’m shooting at a ski resort this weekend and will be indoors mostly, but at times I’ll go outside to shoot for an hour or so. What can I do to prevent condensation when I go back inside? Also, is there anything I should do when going outside into the cold?

    Do I need protective gear?

    Thanks

    Thanks…
I have a Mac Book Pro so I dont think I have those slots… Whats the problem with it being in a housing vs bare?

What about the program you mention in your video tutorial – P2genie? Is that similar to P2CMS? (why do you hate P2CMS?)

    Thanks

    Thanks guys.

    What are “bare” SATA drives?

Also, Shane, I watched your video about importing P2… If you keep the P2 reel as your master even after importing to FCP, is there a way to delete unwanted clips from the P2 “reel” folder once its on your harddrive, or do you need to do that while the card is in the camera?

Also, is there a practical difference between the video on the P2 card and the quicktime movie you end up with after log and transfer? Whats the point in holding into the P2 data if you’ve log & transfered everything?

    Thanks
